(has 2 X chromosomes)
Klinefelter's Syndrome is when a male is born with an extra X chromosome. Klinefelter's Syndrome results when there is an error in cell division. This means that Klinefelter's Syndrome can not be inherited, but older women have an increased risk of a child developing it. This means that males who have it have 47 chromosomes instead of 46:instead of being XY like a normal male they are XXY. This results in an decrease production of testosterone. That is why some of the symptoms are small testes, reduced facial and body hair, enlarged breast, and it also results in infertility. People with Klinefelter's Syndrome also have increased risked of other diseases such as breast cancer. also in some causes it can cause learning disabilities and speech problems.
